Contact lost during the First or Second World War

The archives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) form a repository of data about victims of the First and Second World Wars, collected by the ICRC while performing its humanitarian work during these conflicts.

  • In the case of the First World War, the ICRC archives for individuals have been digitalized and can be searched online at http://grandeguerre.icrc.org
  • If you are looking for information about anybody (whether members of the military or civilians) detained during the Second World War, you can submit your request here.
